Normal day with Baby

The typical day...

I wake up around nine. Sunshines gently touching my face. I can still keep the window little bit open so the air is nice and fresh. Baby James is still asleep and I need to wake him up. Mr. C has already left to work.

I get up and wash my face and change the clothes and head to the gym. Or as the weather is nice I normally go for a little run. For an hour or so. Baby James is laughing in the push chair.

After that I eat breakfast, some fruit, berries and nuts. And I make myself a nice cup of coffee. I like to enjoy it out at the patio. Baby James has already eaten milk while I was running and he eats little bit fruit with me. While I enjoy my coffee, he usually plays nicely on the floor.
After breakfast I sing and dance with Baby James. He really likes that and I feel we are really bonding.

After play time I make (peel, boil and smash) some lunch for J and he goes for a nap. He does it nicely him self. I just put him in the bed and he falls asleep.
When Baby James is sleeping I have time to eat lunch. And do laundry and cleaning and so on. After few hours he wakes up and we do some art activities or go out again.

Five o'clock comes Mr. C home and its all quality family time.
Eight o'clock its time to bath. We eat all dinner together. I take Baby James to bed, sing a song and he sleeps till the morning.

Now we have few hours we can enjoy together with Mr. C. Maybe class of wine and conversation of life an future.

...Same time in real life

I wake up somewhere between two and four first time to feed J. Then he wakes up between five and six. Its dark out side and no fresh air. Baby James really thinks this is the time to wake up. Its only the time to open the window.

I don't go to the gym. I don't go out for a run. Its too hot and I am in no shape for that. And J doesn't enjoy the push chair.

I eat breakfast but not that healthy (even I have all I need for that). Anytime I want to enjoy coffee J wakes up or is just not in the mood. Somehow he senses that there is a hot cup of coffee near by.

Singing and dancing and everything to do with jumping is something J really enjoys. But mamis arms can only last this craziness for a while.

To eat and to sleep naps.. I think I am always one step behind. He has got too tired to eat good. So it is a total mess. Yesterday he was awake the whole day. Didn't take a tiny little nap after two o'clock. Did I already mention that I never have clean clothes for more than five minutes of time?

Mr. C is not home by five. He works much longer hours. But in the afternoons I try to go out a bit with J.

And its true that eight o'clock starts bath. Baby James is already training for his first swim from Mallorca to Menorca. He keeps kicking so much the whole bathroom is sinking. By nine J is in the bed. Sometimes falls asleep easily, sometimes needs little convincing.

And now, its time for me and Mr. C to eat dinner together. Maybe not too much conversations of life but at least we (I) have made a rule that there is no tv when we eat.
To the bed between eleven and twelve. And then it all begins from the start.

Weekend came and weekend went

Plans for next week? None. So lets take a look back to the weekend. Me and Baby James started the weekend making an excursion to the beach right next to us. I have been spending so much time inside its making me crazy. It is still very hot here and my dear Baby J usually don't enjoy being in the push chair. I guess its because the heat. So also going out with him is making me crazy. Tiny crazy problem there.

So Friday to get some air and just to do something with J, I put him in the baby carrier and went to the beach. And how did he enjoy this little trip! I can't carry him around for hours but little walks like this we will do more.

Friday night was date night. Mr. C took me out for sushi. Pizza Friday was moved to Saturday.
For dessert we usually go to a ice cream bar. I always order like I never had ice cream before. And I have had. Believe me. Its also possible that after I have eaten my Nutella/Mars/Kinder/Baileys ice cream I will finish Mr. Cs ice cream.

Saturday. Went basically by trying to fix Facebook page for the blog. For some reason Baby James didn't like the idea and was protesting a lot. And my computer skills didn't help. But page is now done.

Sunday my friend had invited us to see football game. It was Barcelona playing here so of course we went to see it. Very first football game Baby James has seen. After the game Sunday lunch and that was our weekend. Not quite ready for Monday yet. Why it always comes so fast..

Friday date nights are the best

@lifewithmrcandbabyjames is my new Facebook page

Ready in the audience for some girl power football

What are you good at?

If you ask me, I'm not good at anything. Some people are good at drawing , singing, dancing, what ever. I don't have this kind of skills. Any of them. And how I wish I could say I'm good at doing this or that. But when I think about it, I go blank. I'm lacking of talent. Im not asking pity. And my mom will sure tell me that I'm good at everything. But I don't have special talent. Or at least I haven't found it yet.

I had this conversation with Mr. C the other day. I ask him to tell me what I am good at. He said
'you are good at making your nail polish'. Last time I wore nail polish was in July. I think. But Mr. C is also good at making he's nails.

Next he said I'm good at making my make up. On a good day I wear mascara. On a good day. Usually I don't even do that. Tho, I remembered my little brother asked me to do make up on him few years ago. And I did. Not sure you can put this in the talent box.

Then Mr. C remembered I'm a mother. And told me I'm the best mom for Baby James. This I will not deny completely. As every mom, I have the cutest and best baby in the world.

So what can you count as a talent? What are you good at? What could be my hidden talent? And where is it hiding?
But now, while its hiding, lets go and enjoy the pizza Friday.

And yes. I got the hint. I should fix myself a bit more.

My alcudia in pictures

Almost middle of September and I realise that August is gone. Its goodbye summer and Hello! autumn. I am looking forward to be with you.

Here in pictures my August in Alcudia. Its no denying that its beautiful here.

And the best news I got today is that there is going to be some mom&baby activities starting next week. Me and Baby James are first in line to go to the dancing lessons.

Sunday Market in Alcudia

Mr. C had woke up this morning with Baby James so I could sleep in a bit. I didn't sleep whole morning, but woke around 8:30. Ah, what a feeling to stay in the bed for a while before getting up! And when I did, I went to the toilet. I was sure I left a pair of grey mini shorts there in the evening. But didn't found them. Guess I was wrong. Put on another pair of shorts and went to the kitchen. Baby James was already sleeping his morning nap and Mr. C was making toasts for breakfast. I don't know, maybe it was a perfect fit for him, but it took a while before I realise I just found my grey shorts. Mr. C was wearing them. I took a picture of him but to save him from all the ladies going wild I will not publish it.

After breakfast me and Baby James went to the market. In alcudia there is a market every Sunday and Tuesday. We went to buy fruits and nuts. But I'm pretty sure anything you want to buy, you can find it in the market. Today its been bit cloudy so the market was packed. Good thing about trolleys in a market is that you can load all the heavy shopping in the basket under the trolly. But you can also push little bit way in the crowds. No, that was a joke. I wouldn't  do that.

Before we left to the market Mr. C also tried to dress up Baby James. I catch him with a blue pyjama and yellow shorts.

Wake up at 1:11, Checked

Feels like this is something I love to complain about. From the title you can guess that we woke up at 1:11 last night. Or I did. Mr. C hadn't even felt asleep yet. So Baby James woke at the night crying like hell. The way he never cried before. It took at least half an hour for him to fall asleep again. And after that I of course couldn't. And rest of the night was very restless.

My favourite topic, sleepless nights came to me as a surprise. Now my mom would say, what did you expect. I guess whole world would say the same. I guess I expected sleepless nights, but the reality is harder than expectations. Now I can only trust, again my mom and the whole world, you'll forget it when time goes by.

But what I am wondering is what cost that heartbreaking cry? He was not hungry. He was half asleep while crying. Nothing seemed to help. And I was sure we were about to wake the whole neighbourhood. I haven't gone out today, so I don't know if we did.

Mr. C was checking hes temperature, seemed normal. I was trying to google the answer. Didn't find the answer quick enough. But I truest google. So I went back to find the answer in the morning.

There is a problem. When googling the symptoms your baby happens to have. You only find forums (at least in Finnish). And there I found it could be anything. Theeth, stomach, ears. Some kind of a horror attack. Bad dream. Baby can be learning to move and thats why is restless in the night. Babys are all different so could be anything. Ok, very good. Now I know.

Could a someone baby professional person tell what happened?

I don't want to only complain so I will tell you a story how I almost died few weeks ago.
Last summer Mr. C send me a selfie of him self canoeing. Very cute picture, but I can't find it anywhere. He had bought a tandem canoe. Quality time for us. My answer: no, its dangerous. Mr. C said its lovely and I will like it. So I encourage myself (and trusted him) and few weeks ago we went. Stylish as ever. And I have to admit I was happy to go.

But. There is no picture of us coming back. It would be pretty much the same picture except without the canoe. And we were wet. The other side of that canoe punctured somehow in the middle of our trip. Luckily we were not too far away from another shore. But. What did I say.

EGGs

It’s been a while since I wrote last time. It’s because I was full filling my long time dream. Finally I can call my self a mosaic artist. Here for you,  to enjoy my first piece of art. The EGGS.

Mr. C says I should sell it. So I am waiting for offers.

Cliché Tuoché

What have I learned during these four and a half months of being a mom? I learned that all the cliches are true. There is no exception. And here is my favourite ones.

1. Sleep now while you still can

This one was used a lot while I was pregnant. And I did sleep rather good. But sometimes I felt it was unfair I could sleep late in the morning while Mr. C went out to work early in the morning. Now, I would sleep till late in the afternoon if I could. Without any feelings of unfairness.

Yes. Please.

No. Thanks.

2. It will get easier soon

Used in the first weeks after Baby arrived. Totally lost when and where and how I should sleep. This lead to that I was totally lost with, about everything, somedays. But yes, little by little it did and still does get easier.
Here, in picture how I looked before Baby James. Second picture after Baby has arrived. There I had already had three cups of coffee...

3. Dont cry over split milk

But it really truly can make you cry. I was brave enough to save my tears till the moment I started to clean the split milk.

4. You will understand when you have your own children

This saying is used, of course, when you don't have children. It is one of the most annoying things one can say to you. Honestly, what is more annoying than someone telling you that you are unable to understand something? And to fix it, you must wait at least nine months. But it is so true. And will only make sense once you have your own children. Experience is eyes opening.

5. It takes a village to raise a child

Every pair of helping hands are always welcome.

Pool, beach and cats

Here we are back in the heat. I must tell you, the weather is insane. It is too hot. To protect Baby James from the burning sun is my biggest worry. But so far he is the one complaining least. To cool down we took a swim in the pool. It was Baby James first swim. And no better company than the cousins (and mami and papi). He really enjoyed it.

We are now staying in Alcudia while renovating the house in Santa Margalida. We arrived on Monday afternoon and it has been really really nice here. First thing on Tuesday me and Baby James headed out in the old town for a lunch with a friend. Later in the day Baby J was having some quality time with abuela and me and my friend went for a little swim in a little beach. Water was so warm you can almost cook your self.

Mr. C got little bit romantic last night. We made pizza, took two cans of Coca Cola and went out for a picnic. There we sat under the starts at the end of a small deck, feet touching the water and ate pizza. Mr. C told a story about the first time he put his boat in the sea. Main point: trailer went to the sea with the boat (and help of Mr. Cs brother (very strong man)). Reason: Mr. C had tight  the boat to the trailer with the robe. He was too excited to put the boat in so forgot he had tight it.

I would also like to introduce my new roommate. There is 30 more of these around the house.

Miehikkälä on my mind

Did I already say that Finland has been treating us good? We have been having such a wonderful time here. To see all friends and family has been absolutely great. Two weeks has gone so fast. Only this weekend left and Monday we go back to the island. But yesterday was the best as Mr. C came to Helsinki.

Highlight of the holiday was also last weekend at the summerhouse. How relaxing and beautiful it can be in Finnish nature. Me and my niece put up a soap factory. I will only share the pictures and not any tips how to make soap. Our recipes went bit wild. There was a point when one of us wanted to put sticks in the soap..

So, yesterday came Mr. C. We talked about it with Baby James the whole day. And what did we do? We went to see ice hockey. Neither one of my Spanish boys has seen ice hockey live before. My youngest brother was having the first game of the season and of course they won. And for the first time in weeks we were not feeling hot!

But today is the day. The big day. Its the Wedding day!!! Not mine. Or Mr. C's. Or ours. But my cousins. Baby James has bought new outfit for the occasion. Mr. C is fitting bit better to his shirt. And I will need to wear supportive underwear. But we are ready to celebrate the LOVE today.
