Miehikkälä on my mind

Did I already say that Finland has been treating us good? We have been having such a wonderful time here. To see all friends and family has been absolutely great. Two weeks has gone so fast. Only this weekend left and Monday we go back to the island. But yesterday was the best as Mr. C came to Helsinki.

Highlight of the holiday was also last weekend at the summerhouse. How relaxing and beautiful it can be in Finnish nature. Me and my niece put up a soap factory. I will only share the pictures and not any tips how to make soap. Our recipes went bit wild. There was a point when one of us wanted to put sticks in the soap..

So, yesterday came Mr. C. We talked about it with Baby James the whole day. And what did we do? We went to see ice hockey. Neither one of my Spanish boys has seen ice hockey live before. My youngest brother was having the first game of the season and of course they won. And for the first time in weeks we were not feeling hot!

But today is the day. The big day. Its the Wedding day!!! Not mine. Or Mr. C's. Or ours. But my cousins. Baby James has bought new outfit for the occasion. Mr. C is fitting bit better to his shirt. And I will need to wear supportive underwear. But we are ready to celebrate the LOVE today.

What to eat when in Finland

One week down, one to go. Holiday in Finland has treated us good. And the food. I will dedicate this chapter to food.
Baby James is now 4 months and started to taste foods. So far the favourite is, of course, the messiest with berries. He was quick to learn how to eat. Now when he sees a spoon coming closer he is waiting mouth open.

Wednesday me and Baby James went to the Tivoli with grandma and J's cousin. After going wild in the machines we took a girly snack. Three girls, three times sausage and fries please. Baby James was having a nap.

Thursday Baby James had a little party to invite family and friends to see him. Too many presents he got, thank you every one joining. It was lovely to see you all and I was full of happiness. Cakes, candy and sparkling wine was on the menu. My mom made tiny little strawberry dream cake...

The famous cheese cake was at the party too. Instead of saying "Marry me?" it said Baby James but it was recognised by many guests. Let me also tell you that Mr. C has told me that I can try to propose with some other cakes, some will sure work...

Friday afternoon we packed the car and drove two hours to the summerhouse. It was my turn to fix the snack in the evening and as I feel myself as a Spanish señorita I made a cheese plate with ham.

Lets not forgot the drinking when in Finland. You can either drink beer like my friend or take a nice glass of wine by the lake. Both equally good options.

So, one more week to spend in Finland before new chapter starts in Mallorca. Kippis to that!

Throw back to one year ago

The first time Mr. C came to Finland was midsummer last year. I took a look at the pictures we took year ago. And Helsinki was looking beautiful! I only remembered the September/ October when it was cold, rainy and dark all the time. I forgot how nice it can be in Finland in the summer.

Helsinki was beautiful but it was midsummer so we went to our summerhouse. My family was eager to finally meet Mr. C in person. And rally english was on.
Tip: if you don't understand what someone is saying to you, just say yes. I have witnessed this many times. It can take you anywhere. Yes.

While living in different countries saying goodbye was always so hard. I was always looking forward the next time we could see each other. Im looking at these pictures smile on my face. And what a great reminder of how lucky we are now to be together everyday.

This year we don't celebrate midsummer in Finland. But I hope I can capture these same feelings no matter where we are. Happy happy midsummer and take photos, always.

"You should do something"

This is how I started my blog. Mr. C told me I should do something. In encouraging, supportive way. Not in the "you never do anything" way. I am a mom to two month old Baby James, I have something to do. But to do something for myself.  And then I got it last Sunday morning. I should do something. I should write a blog. So here I am, doing something. But first let me introduce these two to you:

                                                                        Mr. C and Baby James
Picture is taken few weeks back on our first family picnic at the beach

We are a family of three living in Mallorca. Mr. C is from here but half Swedish. I am Finnish and moved here last October. Mr. C came to pick me up from Finland, I call it real love.

Packed the car and drove from Finland to Mallorca. Took five days. Four days more what it took him to drive alone from Mallorca to Finland...

And here, this is me.

I met Mr. C first time in 2013 when I came to work in Mallorca. I felt in love with the island right away (with Mr. C bit later). So it is a dream come true that I am now able to live here permanently. I was already pregnant when I moved here in October and since then I have stayed home. And this is what worried Mr. C, that I would get bored here. Many times he said to me you should do something, many times I asked like what? And many times he asked me don't you want to do something and again I said like what? And then suddenly I got this idea. To have a blog about our family.

Welcome to follow our life!
