Cliché Tuoché

What have I learned during these four and a half months of being a mom? I learned that all the cliches are true. There is no exception. And here is my favourite ones.

1. Sleep now while you still can

This one was used a lot while I was pregnant. And I did sleep rather good. But sometimes I felt it was unfair I could sleep late in the morning while Mr. C went out to work early in the morning. Now, I would sleep till late in the afternoon if I could. Without any feelings of unfairness.

Yes. Please.

No. Thanks.

2. It will get easier soon

Used in the first weeks after Baby arrived. Totally lost when and where and how I should sleep. This lead to that I was totally lost with, about everything, somedays. But yes, little by little it did and still does get easier.
Here, in picture how I looked before Baby James. Second picture after Baby has arrived. There I had already had three cups of coffee...

3. Dont cry over split milk

But it really truly can make you cry. I was brave enough to save my tears till the moment I started to clean the split milk.

4. You will understand when you have your own children

This saying is used, of course, when you don't have children. It is one of the most annoying things one can say to you. Honestly, what is more annoying than someone telling you that you are unable to understand something? And to fix it, you must wait at least nine months. But it is so true. And will only make sense once you have your own children. Experience is eyes opening.

5. It takes a village to raise a child

Every pair of helping hands are always welcome.

Pool, beach and cats

Here we are back in the heat. I must tell you, the weather is insane. It is too hot. To protect Baby James from the burning sun is my biggest worry. But so far he is the one complaining least. To cool down we took a swim in the pool. It was Baby James first swim. And no better company than the cousins (and mami and papi). He really enjoyed it.

We are now staying in Alcudia while renovating the house in Santa Margalida. We arrived on Monday afternoon and it has been really really nice here. First thing on Tuesday me and Baby James headed out in the old town for a lunch with a friend. Later in the day Baby J was having some quality time with abuela and me and my friend went for a little swim in a little beach. Water was so warm you can almost cook your self.

Mr. C got little bit romantic last night. We made pizza, took two cans of Coca Cola and went out for a picnic. There we sat under the starts at the end of a small deck, feet touching the water and ate pizza. Mr. C told a story about the first time he put his boat in the sea. Main point: trailer went to the sea with the boat (and help of Mr. Cs brother (very strong man)). Reason: Mr. C had tight  the boat to the trailer with the robe. He was too excited to put the boat in so forgot he had tight it.

I would also like to introduce my new roommate. There is 30 more of these around the house.

Miehikkälä on my mind

Did I already say that Finland has been treating us good? We have been having such a wonderful time here. To see all friends and family has been absolutely great. Two weeks has gone so fast. Only this weekend left and Monday we go back to the island. But yesterday was the best as Mr. C came to Helsinki.

Highlight of the holiday was also last weekend at the summerhouse. How relaxing and beautiful it can be in Finnish nature. Me and my niece put up a soap factory. I will only share the pictures and not any tips how to make soap. Our recipes went bit wild. There was a point when one of us wanted to put sticks in the soap..

So, yesterday came Mr. C. We talked about it with Baby James the whole day. And what did we do? We went to see ice hockey. Neither one of my Spanish boys has seen ice hockey live before. My youngest brother was having the first game of the season and of course they won. And for the first time in weeks we were not feeling hot!

But today is the day. The big day. Its the Wedding day!!! Not mine. Or Mr. C's. Or ours. But my cousins. Baby James has bought new outfit for the occasion. Mr. C is fitting bit better to his shirt. And I will need to wear supportive underwear. But we are ready to celebrate the LOVE today.
